About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Job Description

As an IE Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing preparation, production efficiency improvement, KPI management, Lean implementation, BVPS development, standard time management, and continuous improvement activities within the plant. You will work closely with production, quality, logistics, engineering, and other departments to improve operational performance and support the establishment of an efficient manufacturing system.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate manufacturing preparation before the plant’s start of production, including manpower, machines, materials, methods, and environment, and support the introduction and improvement of production standards.

2. Promote the implementation and continuous development of BVPS or similar production systems, establish evaluation and improvement mechanisms, and improve shop floor management standards.

3. Manage operational KPIs, including HPV, OPR, efficiency, manpower, and other production indicators, and develop improvement actions to achieve defined targets.

4. Define and maintain standard working times, support headcount and workstation planning, and optimize processes, equipment, layout, and other production resources.

5. Identify Lean and Kaizen improvement opportunities, plan and implement Kaizen projects, promote best practices, and organize Kaizen workshops or Jishuken activities.

6. Research, introduce, and train employees on Lean tools, methods, and continuous improvement practices to develop Lean capabilities across all levels of the organization.

7. Cooperate with related departments, ensure compliance with internal procedures, production standards and safety requirements, and complete other job-related tasks assigned by the direct superior.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

2. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for IE Engineer, or minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Senior IE Engineer, preferably in manufacturing process optimization, Lean methodology, KPI management, standard time determination, or an automotive production environment.

3. Fluent English language skills are required; Chinese and Hungarian language knowledge is an advantage.

4. Strong knowledge of Lean tools and production improvement methods, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, standard work, Kaizen project management, KPI analysis, Excel, and MS Office tools; BVPS or Toyota Production System experience is an advantage.

5. Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills, proactive attitude, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and commitment to continuous improvement and employee training.
